Fix Registry Instructions

From where are these errors coming from?

Registries are very important for the Windows operating system since it is the place where all the information is stored. Each time you open/close a file or application or when you decide to install/uninstall some components, sensitive information is stored in the registry. Even when you create an empty file on the hard-disk, this action is reflected in the registry.

So, is very simple... your computer is like a shake with registry. Is very easy to create them doing about everything, and is also the same easy to generate errors on registry doing absolutely nothing wrong, like: uninstalling a program (this usually generate lots of errors, because uninstalling processes are usually not 100% complete, and files/folders with 0 kb, or registry with invalid entries remains, harming your computer in a long run).

If the registry is full of errors, the overall performance of the computer diminishes dramatically. The system raises a lot of error messages on the screen; it slows down progressively (at the beginning you barely notice, but in a few moths it will be really slow) and suddenly crash, without any apparent reason. Most frequently this starts with blue screen error. From that to the disaster is just a small step.

How do I fix registry?

Well, if you read this article, you actually don't know about very much (because this is a guide for beginners), so this first solution we will mention it below really is not recommended:

1. Edit registry manually. Choose start - type *regedit* in the *Run* section (or *start search* on Windows Vista) and go to the file that is corrupt and modify that with correct parameters or simply delete them. Once again, this is not for a regular computer user. It can be so deadly, that a single mistake (like adding by mistake a comma when editing a registry) can make your computer NOT to start anymore.

Usually, advanced users type & search the error they notice on the computer on Google, or on specialized forums. They find the registry fix solution on the net and then edit it or delete registry from *regedit*. However, we do not believe this is a true solution not even for experienced users, because of the high risk involved.

2. A fix registry program will do miracles! That will fix registry automatically within a few click of a button, with a very small room for errors. However, be aware that is not entirely free of errors, let's say 95% safe. There is a 5% chance that some automatic fixes to generate some programs crashes, even a slow start on your computer (because some fixes delete registry necessary to load Windows). It can fix hundreds and thousands of registries (which is wonderful, your computer will be ten times faster after that), but can make some damages on particular programs that use for example a deleted registry. But this, rarely happen. I actually never heard of computers crashes after using fix registry programs, but using manual registry edit, this can do happen many times.

To prevent any surprises and make your experience 99,99% secure, do an backup before you run any fix registry program. Any respectable software should have this option: BACKUP! Use it with trust every time, even in most of the cases, fixing do not generate any problems at all! So... backup first your registry and fix after... okay? This way, when any surprise will arise, you can turn back time and set the registry to a previously version.

Final advice

It is advisable to leave a registry program do its job, better than doing nothing. Leaving a computer untouched, will have a negative effect on a long run.

Generally, people use these utility programs after problems starts. You shouldn't wait too long. You don't need to wait until your errors full your screen or until computer really is slowing down. Sometimes it may be too late to fix anything.

An educated computer user will always have an antivirus and a fix registry program and use it periodically, even if computer is working perfectly. Without a little discipline with your personal computer, soon, errors will take over your PC instead of you.

Now, choosing a registry fix program is not a hard task, maybe the easiest. Google search: registry fix and bingo!... you've got hundreds of results.

However, do not hurry and do not look after the cheapest and especially not the free ones. You want to have an useful tool, not one that will create more mess than clean.
